Kunsthaus Wiesbaden, Schulberg 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In \u201eErnest Cole: Lost and Found\u201c erz\u00e4hlt Raoul Peck die bewegende Geschichte des s\u00fcdafrikanischen Fotografen Ernest Cole, dessen k\u00fcnstlerischer Nachlass, bestehend aus 60.000 Fotonegativen, 2017 in einem schwedischen Banksafe entdeckt wurde. Cole hatte 1967 mit seinem Fotobuch \u201eHouse of Bondage\u201c der Welt\u00f6ffentlichkeit die rassistische Realit\u00e4t in seinem Heimatland vor Augen gef\u00fchrt, geriet in der 80er Jahren allerdings in Vergessenheit und starb 1990 im Alter von nur 49 Jahren in New&nbsp;York.<\/p>\n<p class=\"merry mt-2 pr-5 pb-2\">Mit Coles geborgenen Bildern und Texten rekonstruiert Peck den Lebensweg eines engagierten und bahnbrechenden K\u00fcnstlers, dessen Werk von der Wut \u00fcber das Schweigen im Angesicht der Schrecken des Apartheid-Regimes beseelt ist. \u201eErnest Cole: Lost and Found\u201c wurde in Cannes mit dem Preis f\u00fcr den Besten Dokumentarfilm ausgezeichnet. In seinen privaten Fotoreihen konzentriert sich der Star-Fotograf jedoch auf jene Teile der US-Gesellschaft, die nicht im Licht der \u00d6ffentlichkeit stehen \u2013 auf Obdachlose, ehemalige Inhaftierte, Dragqueens oder Native Americans. Seit drei\u00dfig Jahren lebt Schoeller in den <span class=\"caps\">USA<\/span> und kennt die Extreme eines Landes, das politisch und sozial immer mehr auseinander zu rei\u00dfen droht. Mit einem mobilen Foto-Setup kreiert er einen intimen Raum, in dem ihm Menschen von ihren Lebensrealit\u00e4ten erz\u00e4hlen.
