DENNIS HENNING – HIGHLY RESOLVED
KUNSTVEREIN BELEVUE-SAAL
The digital transformation means a more precise, detailed and increasingly individual resolution of human existence. Translated into binary data, machines answer complex questions unambiguously with 1 or 0. Humans cannot directly comprehend this invisible data processing, but the answers provide supposed clarity in the diffuse reality.
Analysis and monitoring by cameras are supposed to provide security against the unclear. However, under this sense of observation, new doubts and suspicions arise. The image of man remains ambiguous. But can man still endure ambiguity in this highly resolved world? And what role does he play — in this world determined by artificial clarity?
Dennis Henning. Born in Rendsburg in 1991. Completed an apprenticeship as a wood sculptor in Flensburg in 2016 and then studied communication design at HTW Berlin. In the photography course of Prof. Henrik Spohler created the series “Hochaufgelöst”, which was shown at the Dutch Design Week in 2019. Already freelancing during his studies, he received his bachelor’s degree in 2021 and is now a full-time designer.
