Jürgen Altmann
»Talking Places«
Seit 2020 fotografiert Jürgen Altmann Since 2020, Jürgen Altmann has been photographing buildings around the world that embody the spirit of new beginnings and forward momentum. With the advent of the ‘Space Age’ in the 1960s and 70s, architecture broke away from traditional forms and embraced an almost playful diversity. In this period of change, architects seized the chance to rethink and reimagine building space. Their designs reflected a sense of freedom, individuality, and a lightness that seemed to defy gravity. The resulting structures became part of a larger story—a pop-cultural vision of a radiant, hopeful future. In his artistic exploration, Altmann focuses not only on the buildings themselves, but on the emotions they still evoke more than 50 years later. His images capture architecture as a promise—a break from the past and a step into possibility. What shines through is an enduring sense of optimism and the belief that everything can be reimagined.
