Emilé Krutulyté
»At 10:35 I Leave My Flat«
This project is based on documentary video footage recorded on 19 November 2024 at various institutions and locations across Vilnius. While the surveillance of public space is intended to protect communities, it also quietly captures countless private moments of unsuspecting individuals. Every movement is recorded—and archived.
The work raises pressing questions: Who has access to this footage? How easy is it to retrieve? Will it ever be deleted?
The number of surveillance cameras continues to grow each year. Could we be approaching a future in which personal and intimate moments no longer exist? Where every second of our lives is recorded, stored, and potentially revisited? And ultimately—what does this mean for us as a society: is it a step toward safety, or a threat to our humanity?
