»Neverending End«

Neverending End is a deeply personal exploration of generational trauma within the family of artist Maartje. At its heart lies the intricate and painful bond between her and her mother, Cornelia. Unable to face the weight of her past, Cornelia slowly withdrew from those around her. In her longing for love, she married a spirit through a medium, named Theo. Yet even then, happiness eluded her. Eventually, she chose death, hoping to be reunited with him.

Her daughter, deeply affected by this legacy, internalized Cornelia’s trauma. Only by shedding it could she find peace—and a better relationship with both her mother and herself. Now a mother herself, she feels a strong need to stop these patterns from repeating. Breaking these cycles, she believes, is essential —not only for our future generations, but for a more compassionate and connected world. “Neverending End“ is a journey into the past, to help transform the future.
