In our increasingly divided world, future generations will be confronted with ‘adult topics’ such as sexuality and violence at a young age, mainly due to unregulated internet access. Unrealistic beauty standards, gender roles, expensive trendy products and much more exert pressure on insecure children, which is why they feel the urge to grow up as quickly as possible. Toys and childish behaviors and activities are discarded long before puberty; instead, children post on TikTok about their skincare routines, dropshipping deals or their birthday wishes, which hardly differ from those of an adult. This problematic change is demonstrated by the collection of neglected dolls, some of which are combined in an unpleasant way with symbols of adulthood.
